White Water Rafting
Weekly scheduled water releases! Don’t Miss Out!
The best thing about a rafting trip with Active Highs is that our trips on the river Garry take place when there are weekly scheduled releases of water from the dam. These releases of water give us guaranteed water levels from The end of March until October once per week.
This is a fantastic experience for adrenaline junkies, adventurous families, first timers and experienced rafters with exhillerating class 3 and 4 white water all season long! We meet at the Active Highs centre at The Great Glen Hostel, (24 miles from Fort William, 10 miles from Fort Augustus and 45 miles from Inverness) prior to your trip.
Rafting on the River Garry is an exhilarating experience and there are 6 big rapids such as Double or Quits, Surfs Up, Hey Diddle Diddle, and the tunnel of love. Big bouncy waves, drops, stoppers and plenty of surfing is the order of the day check out the video & images below to see the action for yourself! Other rivers that are used for white water rafting but rain is required to get them into condition. When the dam releases water from April to October the River Garry is a classic grade 3 and 4 white water experience, it’s that good we run it twice per trip.
