Schools & Youth
Active Highs have a great range of fun and challenging activities that are perfect for activity days for schools, colleges and youth groups in the Scottish Highlands. We are now also able to offer a residential activity break option for schools and youth groups from one night to full weeks based from The Great Glen Hostel at South Laggan.
Schools Activity Days
Our activity days aimed at school groups can consist of a single activity or multi activity package that can be water based, land based or both. We are aware that school budgets can sometimes be tight so we have adjusted our prices accordingly for groups of over 14 young people. Please see our activity days page for more information.
Challenging Behaviour
Some of Active Highs staff have a lot of experience of working with young people with challenging behaviuor and understand how a different approach to working with some groups is needed. All that we ask is that you are up front and honest about the nature of your group and the need for any extra support. We also have a general policy of not mixing highly dependent groups or individuals with other mainstream customers.
Scout Groups
Having been involved in Scouting for many years either as Scouts or Scout leaders we are very happy to work with Scout groups and the Scouting organisation to help provide activities for Scout groups for days out or for activity programmes during camping trips. We also have a local Scout camp in Spean Bridge which is a great central location for all of our centres.
What About Safety?
Although outdoor activities do always have an inherent risk at Active Highs we understand that safety is in the forefront of every teachers & parents mind when taking young people on an outdoor experience.
Through regular risk assessments, policy reviews and maintaining a high standard of equipment & staff, Active Highs will endeavour to ensure that your activity is as safe as possible. We will also always try to ensure that we do not remove the elements of adventure from our activities because after all, this is what makes them fun and exciting!
AALA Licensing
Active Highs hold a current AALA licence. This means that we are inspected once per year and our policies, procedures, staff and equipment are all looked at. This also gives Active Highs the opportunity to keep up to date with current best practice in the industry.
Our AALA licence information can be viewed here & we will always happily supply you with any supporting documentation that is required for your trip.
