What is Canyoning?
Canyoning in Scotland is one of the most fun, adventurous and exciting things that you can do on your trip to the Highlands, and is now a well-established adrenaline-fuelled adventure sport.
Canyoning experiences normally involve jumping and sliding over waterfalls, scrambling up and over rocks, swimming through pools & sliding down smooth flumes carved out by Mother Nature over thousands of years.
Scotland has become a major destination for adventure sports over the last 20 years, and it has fantastic venues to explore for this exciting & adventure sport. So come along, put on your wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet & harness, hike up the hillside and jump on in with Active Highs!
This activity is a very popular activity for stag weekends, hen weekends, active families, youth groups, scouts, and military groups for adventure training days.
We require participants to be 12 years old or older for our half-day canyoning trips, but we recommend that participants be 16 or older. We also offer gorge walking near Inverness, with a minimum age of 8 years for families with younger children, or younger school or youth groups.
